There are three fixed cards in the Grand Solar Spreads. These three cards have themselves as their supporting and challenging karma cards. Simply put, these cards don’t move. They stay in their own square. You know that self-centered person who you ask, “You think the whole world revolves around you, don’t you?” Yes, these three cards do, because the world does revolve around them🤯.
The first of the three is the K♠. It sits in the Sun/Vulcan/Saturn position. Let’s put Vulcan aside, as that’s an obscure (or fictitious) planet that was thought to be an inter-mercurial energy which existed between Mercury and the Sun. The K♠, sitting Sun/Saturn, is a position of someone who likes the spotlight and attention the sun brings but also rules with the iron-hand of Saturn. Now, not all K♠ carry this ruler’s vibration, and some rule with a soft hand. It all depends on the full chart and the person’s makeup.
Nonetheless, this card has one birth date, January 1st. This makes for a bossy, domineering, enterprising, action-oriented, workaholic energy. The K♠, the God card, is the highest card in the deck; and because it’s a spade, it encompasses all the energies that come underneath it. It can be any card it chooses because this advanced soul has experienced these energies and knows how to use them to his/her disposal. Whenever I have the K♠ as my 52-day or daily card, I just know how to accomplish anything. Nothing is a challenge, and what appeared to be challenging at first is made simple under this card’s vibration.
Now, the K♠ is judgmental. If you look at it, it’s sitting in the top left corner of the spread. It’s literally looking down on its dominion with eyes of judgment; and because it doesn’t move, it doesn’t have to lower itself to meet anyone else. But that doesn’t stop it from being shortsighted. All three fixed cards lack peripheral vision. They wear blinders, so they all need someone trustworthy to guide them and point them in the right direction from time to time—including the K♠.
The second fixed card is the J♥, which is known as the Christ card or the card of spiritual sacrifice. This card has six birth dates associated with it, so it’s not so rare as the K♠, but it isn’t as common as the last fixed card which has ten. This energy has chosen, at some point, to dedicate his/her life to a spiritual cause that’s greater than him/herself. It’s the baby of the three, the most passionate, the most naïve—no matter how much it knows intellectually or spiritually. As far as worldly matters go, the J♥ still craves the connectedness love brings and can fall prey to its trappings.
The J♥ sits Venus/Jupiter. Venus is the planet of love—the attraction of wealth, abundance, and personal possessions. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth, luck, opportunity, and higher learning; so you can see why the quest for love is amplified for the J♥. The J♥ must be mindful that he/she, through his or her own actions, dogmas, philosophies, and weaknesses, can be the sacrifice. This is a heavy energy to carry because trust is not an easy feat in this life; and the J♥ must be spiritually discerning, mentally adept, business-minded, and worldly all at the same time to avoid becoming his/her own sacrificial lamb.
The last fixed card is the 8♣, sitting Mars/Neptune. This card is a fixed and mentally stubborn energy because it bears the mark of the Saturnian eight and the communicative club. Eight is a card that overcomes obstacles through hard work, discipline, and its understanding of time—kairos. Passionate Mars wants to act, grind, work hard, and exhaust its sexual energy. Neptune wants to be mysterious, murky, rose-colored, fleeting, and misleading. The 8♣, must learn that success comes from much spiritual and physical work. It’s not enough for the 8♣ to go to work and put in many hours. He/she may see success at first, but it’s not sustainable without an equal amount of spiritual veneration.
There are ten birth dates associated with the 8♣, so the personalities differ greatly with this card. The 8♣ is consumed with karmic debt, either in relationships or money, loves to be kept and mentally sated, and does well with work that involves large crowds in a one-to-many dynamic. However, whether 8♣’s reach these heights is dependent on the birth date, the name, and individual drive. The 8♣ can be hugely successful if it can properly discern the opportunities that exist through spiritual means and not be too enamored, or scared, of the energy that it slips away.
